Allied Health Support
Allied Health Assistant (AHA) sessions continuing Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions for a minimum of two hours provide an extended and focused therapeutic experience. These sessions are designed to support individuals in their journey toward achieving occupational therapy goals, promoting skill development, and enhancing overall well-being.

During these extended sessions, the Allied Health Assistant collaborates closely with the client, implementing and reinforcing the strategies and interventions previously established by the Occupational Therapist. The goal is to provide sustained and concentrated support, allowing for deeper exploration of therapeutic activities and more comprehensive engagement in targeted interventions.

The extended duration of these sessions enables the AHA to delve into a variety of activities and exercises, addressing a range of fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living. The emphasis is on promoting meaningful and purposeful engagement in activities that align with the client's individualized goals.

The Allied Health Assistant continues to provide guidance, encouragement, and feedback throughout the extended session, ensuring that the client feels supported and empowered in their progress. This extended time frame allows for a more in-depth understanding of the client's challenges and strengths, facilitating a more nuanced and tailored approach to intervention.

Additionally, the AHA may utilize this extended period to collaborate with the client on developing strategies for incorporating therapeutic activities into their daily routines and environment. This holistic approach aims to promote the integration of therapeutic gains into the client's everyday life.
